Youth advisory committee: nonbinary BIPOC drop-in

WITH PLANNED PARENTHOOD TORONTO

Summary

Teen-Led Anti-Homophobia Education with TEACH

TEACH, which stands for ""Teens Educating and Confronting Homophobia,"" is a youth-led initiative aimed at combating homophobia, biphobia, and transphobia. Our program focuses on delivering top-notch peer education sessions in both high schools and various community settings throughout the city. TEACH operates as a peer-based youth program dedicated to addressing and challenging homophobia, biphobia, and transphobia. We are proud of our award-winning initiative, which brings together diverse groups of young people for candid and open conversations, all facilitated by trained peer volunteers.

T.E.A.C.H. trains peer facilitators, aged 16-25, to lead workshops that encourage participants to critically examine homophobia and heterosexism in their communities. We also delve into the challenges faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, and queer youth. These workshops are conducted in various community settings, including high schools, youth shelters, group homes, community centers, recreational venues, colleges, and universities.
